2025 NFL Preview: Seattle Seahawks Season Outlook, Schedule & Prediction

2025 SEATTLE SEAHAWKS SEASON PREVIEW

The Seattle Seahawks were one of the teams left out of a loaded NFC last season. Seattle started the season with three straight wins before losing five of the next six games ahead of the bye week. Seattle won four straight games out of the bye week before splitting the next four games to end the year. This led to 10 victories but the Seahawks were left out of the postseason.

OFFENSE

It was an offseason of movement for the Seahawks.

The quarterback position was shaken up when Seattle traded Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders. This led to the team landing Sam Darnold on a $100-million deal in free agency. Can Darnold duplicate his success from 2024? That is one of many question marks for Seattle this season.

The wide receiver room was also shaken up. The Seahawks sent DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he received a huge extension. Seattle attempted to improve the room by signing Cooper Kupp in free agency to add with Jaxson Smith-Njigba. The tight end room is also a question mark with newly-acquired Noah Cant and rookie Elijah Arroyo.

Along the offensive line is a rough interior. This led to Grey Zabel being selected in the first round this year. He will likely jump into a starting role with center Ole Oluwatimi, who did not impress last season. Christian Haynes struggled at right guard as well. Charles Cross is the anchor on the left side and the only offensive lineman who can be relied on.

The running backs have a chance to be the strength of the offense. Kenneth Walker has been dynamic when healthy but has struggled with injuries as time. The combination of Walker and Zach Charbonnet make up a strong duo in the NFC.

DEFENSE

Mike Macdonald is the perfect candidate to improve the defense in Seattle.

Last season, the Seahawks skyrocketed to 14th in the league in total yards allowed. There is a chance for the defense to continue to rise up with a strong cast returning.

Leonard Williams has been a productive piece since being traded to the Seahawks in 2023. He finished with 11 sacks last season. Derick Hall is the perfect compliment to Williams while the team also added DeMarcus Lawrence this offseason.

The Seahawks continued to add to the defense in the draft by using a second-round pick on South Carolina’s Nick Emmanwori. He enters the league with high expectations and will take over a starting role next to Julian Love. The corners will be just as good as the safeties — maybe better.

Devon Witherspoon is a rising star entering his third year while Tariq Woolen is among the best No. 2 CBs in the league.
