3 Bold Carolina Panthers Predictions Entering 2025
The 2025 football season is right around the corner. For the Carolina Panthers, there is excitement. A strong draft and new weapons should have the team improving. So, let’s hop right into the Panthers predictions for his upcoming season.
3 Bold Carolina Panthers Predictions for 2025
Bryce Young Pops Off for a Career Year
This is the year of Bryce Young. This is the year that the Panthers get a return of their investment they made when they selected him first overall. His rookie year was as close to a rookie year as you’d expect. Then there was the sophomore season.
It came as a shock, but the Panthers sitting Young on the bench was a wise decision. Him sitting and learning behind the experienced veteran Andy Dalton was a wise move. It allowed him to learn and then take what he learned and apply it onto the field.
Young actually played well down the stretch and you saw flashes of potential. He finished with 2,403 passing yards and a 60% completion rate. His touchdown percentage was much larger than his interception percentage, which was slim margins during his rookie season. Fast forward to the 2025 season and Young will have a career year.
He will have the weapons. He has more knowledge and experience under his belt. And there is no reason why he can’t pop off and be the true QB 1. I will go as far to say as he will throw for 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns. I will also go as far to say that the Panthers will have a top 15 passing offense.
Panthers Have a Top 15 Passing Offense
Watching the Panthers try to do offense was often frustrating. They couldn’t run the ball and the pass game was not exactly the greatest. In fairness to Young and even Dalton, the front office didn’t exactly do them any favors with giving them weapons. They made due with what they had to work with.
The Panthers were poor in the pass game, ranking 31st in pass yards, 30th in average pass yards, and in general were 29th in total yards and 23rd in points. Hard to win games when you score very little. While I do think that Young has a career year as a quarterback in this league, the pass game will rise to middle of the pack because of it.
The one thing the Panthers could continue to do well is run the ball. Chubba Hubbard had a really nice season for the Panthers, rushing for nearly 1,200 yards and is labeled as the RB1 on the depth chart. But Young has weapons. Finally.
In addition to Adam Thielen, the Panthers struck gold at the draft by take Tetairoa McMillian. The big wide receiver out of Arizona is physical, can make the spectacular catch, and gives the Panthers a legitimate threat on the outside. Young and McMillan could be one of the best young duos in the league.
Hunter Renfrow is a gem. He is the perfect slot receiver, who has elite route running and can come up key in third down situations. Those two alone really help Young and can elevate the pass offense. It will be fun to see and I think the Panthers offense will surprise people.
Panthers Will Win 7 Games
This one’s bold for the Panthers predictions. I think it’s due to the fact that the Panthers aren’t projected to do extremely well this season. The line is set by Draft Kings at 6.5 and reaching seven wins isn’t a stretch. If the play by Young is elevated and the weapons around him help more, the recipe is there. Derrick Brown returning should help the run defense and the defense is the question mark.
This is a Panthers team that won five games last season. Winning two more games and having a 7-10 season doesn’t sound like a stretch. Sounds crazy, but that’s an improvement. The start to the season too is fairly favorable, with games against the Jaguars, Cardinals, Falcons, Patriots, and Dolphins.
I am willing to make that bet and that prediction. 7-10 for the Panthers this season and they improve in numerous areas.
