Browns Officially Sign Polarizing Wide Receiver
The Cleveland Browns have officially signed former Texas WR Isaiah Bond to a three-year, fully guaranteed $3.018 million contract, including a $53,000 signing bonus, a deal more typical of a mid-round draft pick than an undrafted free agent. The signing, finalized on August 18, 2025, follows the resolution of a legal matter that had previously impacted Bond’s draft stock.

Bond, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound speedster, went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft after an April arrest on a sexual assault warrant in Collin County, Texas. On August 14, 2025, a grand jury returned a “no bill,” clearing Bond of criminal charges, with no NFL discipline expected. Bond consistently denied the allegations, and a defamation lawsuit he filed against his accuser was dismissed with prejudice in July 2025. Now, Bond gets his shot to prove himself on and off the field to an NFL squad.
In his 2024 season at Texas, Bond recorded 34 receptions for 540 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his elite speed with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Previously, at Alabama in 2023, he had 48 catches for 668 yards and four touchdowns under Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, whose familiarity with Bond likely influenced the signing. Bond joins a Browns receiver room led by Pro Bowler Jerry Jeudy, with an opportunity to compete for a significant role among unproven talents like Cedric Tillman and Jamari Thrash.
