ESPN Personality Mixes Up Shedeur And Barry Sanders
Shedeur Sanders. It is safe to say that the spawn of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders is the most talked about 5th round pick in NFL history. Ever since the former Colorado QB slipped to the 5th round of the draft, he has not left the mouths of the mainstream media. He has been THE topic of conversation as we make our way towards the start of the regular season……even when the situation has nothing to do with him.
Monica McNutt confused Druski’s Barry Sanders jersey for a Shedeur Sanders jersey 😅
“The jersey, obviously this ties to one Shedeur Sanders.”

There…..there is so much wrong with this clip, it’s not even funny. ESPN, the “worldwide leader in sports,” is supposed to be the go-to spot for all things athletics. But this? This seems like something that would happen during a freshman year journalism project in college. This seems like a mistake that should never hit the airwaves of a major television network.
Why? Well like Druski said in the clip…….that’s a Barry Sanders jersey, not a Shedeur Sanders jersey. Barry Sanders, for those of you who are like Monica McNutt, is a Hall-of-Fame running back who played 10 seasons for the Detroit Lions. He has a laundry list of accolades that he’s racked up in his career, which include;
– 15,269 rushing yards
– 10x Pro-Bowler
– 6x All-Pro
– 1997 AP MVP
– 2x AP Offensive Player Of The Year
– 2x Bert Bell Award Winner
and SO MUCH MORE!
Shedeur, on the other hand……..
– 2024 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year
– Drafted by the Browns
– Son of Deion Sanders
Putting aside the fact that both Barry and Shedeur have different colored jerseys (blue vs. brown) AND different numbers (20 vs. 12)…….I’m not really sure how you can mix these two up. Sure, they are both turning/have turned into “household names” of sorts. But one is LITERALLY one of the greatest backs in league history, and the other…..is the son of Deion.
Sure, Shedeur has a chance to be great in this league. I’m not trying to knock him at all. But the facts in this case are blatantly obvious, to the point where you can’t really cover them up with the phrase “human make mistakes.” If a company’s on-air talent can’t tell the difference between a Shedeur Sanders jersey and a Barry Sanders jersey, then they have a MAJOR problem on their hands.
This is just indicative of how far ESPN has fallen, and Disney needs to FIGURE IT OUT! But in the end, as always…..what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
