NFL Award Predictions for the 2025 Season

NFL kickoff is right around the corner. As done previously, Raiders and Panthers bold predictions have been made. Now it’s time to dive across into the league and predict the NFL Award part. Who comes away with hardware? Let’s dig in!

NFL Award Predictions for the 2025 Season

MVP: Joe Burrow

You know, if the Bengals had made the playoffs, Joe Burrow is the MVP of the 2024 season. In fact, if he didn’t have a defense that couldn’t stop a nosebleed, the likelihood of the Bengals winning more games certainly happens. Burrow did everything in his power to will be Bengals to victory, but asking him to play flawless football isn’t realistic for any player.

Burrow was a machine during the 2024 season. He led the league in passing yards (4,918), most touchdowns (43), averaged the most yards per game (289), and finished the year with a 70.6 completion rating. They struggled to run the ball, but they had the best passing offense in the league.

With the Bengals missing the playoffs and Burrow having a fire lit under him, no reason he can’t come away with the MVP award this season.

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Ashton Jeanty

Yep. The Raiders prized first round pick is going to come away with the offensive rookie of the year award. There are so many good choices for this one, but the running back will shine brightly in the Sin City.

The Raiders offense was lagging in the run game and was dead last in yards a year ago. The offensive line does have some question marks, but the Raiders haven’t had a dynamic presence in the backfield since Josh Jacobs.

Jeanty is physical, big, and has speed. He will be beneficial point of the Raiders offense and much like Brock Bowers, will ball out in his rookie season.

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Abdul Carter

The Giants had quite the draft this year and their golden prize was drafting Abdul Carter. The Giants may not be very good this season, but Carter gives them an extremely dynamic presence of the defensive front seven.

Yes, it’s only training camp and preseason, but you can see how explosive off the line he is. The way he shows off the bend is impressive in its own right. Th Giants also need pass rushing badly, ranking 21st in sacks last season.

The Giants haven’t had a defensive rookie of the year winner since Lawrence Taylor in 1981. Would be very elite company if he does come away with the award.

Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McCaffrey

This one sounds crazy right? Let’s go ahead and pick the guy who can’t stay healthy. Well, when he is healthy, he is one of the top players in the league and easily top three at his position. Christian McCaffrey and a healthy season would solidify him the offensive player of the year award.

McCaffrey is moving fast and looking like himself again. In addition, the fastest speed tracked was Tyreek Hill in 2016 at 23.24 MPH. He beats that by a significant amount.

What makes McCaffrey special is his ability to run the ball, but also excel in the pass game. This is a player who’s done 1,000 both running and receiving in the same season and four 1,000 yard rushing seasons under his belt. If he can replicate his 2023 season and help get the 49ers back to the playoffs, winning the award should shock nobody.

Defensive Player of the Year: TJ Watt

He has won the award once before in 2021 and he should win the award once again. There are plenty of players who enter this that, such as Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby. But this is the year that Watt takes the award.

TJ Watt has been not just consistent, but also the best player defensively for players that are on the front seven. Since 2020, he leads the league in sacks (73.5), tackles (206), has four interceptions, and the most forced fumbles.

He is the most valuable player to the Steelers defense and coming away with his second defensive player of the year award will further cement his legacy as a player.

Coach of the Year: Mike Vrabel

This one’s a lock for me. The moment we saw the bloody nose at practice. It’s go time. The Patriots were a laughing stock a year ago, but that’s the price hiring a rookie head coach.

Fast forward a year and the Patriots brought back legendary linebacker Mike Vrabel to be the head coach of the Patriots. He did bring Josh McDaniels to be the offensive coordinator, so that should help elevate Drake Maye. Maye also has weapons.

The Patriots had a weak pass rush, but a good pass defense. Offensively they have weapons, but they just have a coach. Vrabel is 56-48 as a head coach including playoffs. Furthermore, he is 54-45 in the regular season and made the playoffs three times. He won coach of the year in 2021.

He brings the Patriots back to a winning record and potentially playoffs, it’s a lock.
