Raiders Name Three Players to be Captains
The Las Vegas Raiders have officially named their three captains for the upcoming season. Each player named is a leader among their respective areas of the game. It’s very exciting and going to be a special season for the Silver and Black. Let’s get into it.
Raiders Name Their Three Captains
The Raiders have three captains for this season. Defensive end Maxx Crosby, Punter AJ Cole, and quarterback Geno Smith. Each player is worthy of this honor and will be leaders for the Raiders for the entirety of the 2025 season. Also, there aren’t a better three names better to wear that C on their jerseys.
Smith is the quarterback and more likely than not they are always a team captain. The most important position on the field and Smith is poised to lead this offense. Smith has done well working with the younger players and his veteran presence is massive moving into the season.
Crosby has been the ultimate Raider since stepping onto the gridiron. From getting to the quarterback, to his work ethic, he is a leader on and off the field. He is the anchor to that defense and a player that will be called upon. Not to mention, one of the highest paid non-quarterbacks and for good reason.
AJ Cole might be the best punter in the league. Phenomenal this team went from the legendary Shane Lechler to AJ Cole. Daniel Carlson would also be a worthy decision, but Cole has been a stable presence for the Raiders. When you need a good punt and to pin a team deep in their own end, you can count on Cole.
You can never have too many leaders. Guarantee you Devin White, Jamaal Adams, and even Amari Cooper will emerge as leaders. Guys who have played the game for a while and can be looked up to. The three wearing the C are worthy and it’s going to be fun to see their leadership shine.
