YAWN: Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift Are Officially Engaged
8/26/2025; the day the world stood still. It was a moment in time when every other news story became meaningless. No one cared what Trump had to say. The cuts that were happening in the NFL became non-existent. No one cared about ANYTHING, except for one story…

It was like a nuclear bomb went off, or the start of a new World War. Every single major media outlet was talking about them. It didn’t matter if they primarily covered sports, business, or anything in between; the future Mr. and Mrs. Swift were the headline story. They were the only thing that people wanted to talk about.
The entire situation was almost surreal, but the only thing I could think of is……this is going to SUCK come football season. The amount of references that the NFL and their broadcasting partners are going to make will be NONSTOP. It’ll almost be sickening in a way, and I am not here for it.
Swift, for those of you who’ve been living under a rock, has been a topic of negativity amongst some football fans. People have become sick of her ever since she started dating Kelce. They hate when the league switches to her face every commercial break, and the fact that almost every tweet on NFL Sunday has something to do with her. It’s just become a never ending cavalcade of “Swiftness.”
And this season? It’s going to be no different. If you don’t think the NFL is going to “beat this dead horse” INTO THE GROUND, then you haven’t been paying attention. The thought of a wedding between these two over-paid lovebirds is bringing dollar signs to Roger Goodell’s eyes, especially after the pop-star helped generate $1 billion in publicity for the league.
It is going to be so over-the-top, to the point where I’m setting the OFFICIAL “Swift/Kelce” total (Over/Under) for the season at 852.5. This total will include any reference that could be made across ALL NFL broadcasts, including;
-Stupid jokes/comments from the booth.
-Graphics from the truck trying to tie the wedding into the game
-Signs in the crowd
-Tweets
-Anything making reference to the two during the game
Personally, I hope I’m wrong and this total goes WAY UNDER. I don’t think I can stand a full 18-week season (plus playoffs) filled with this nonsense. The thought of Cris Collinsworth talking about “Bad Blood” between two teams is going to make me hurl. The idea of Al Michaels calling a player the “anti-hero” makes me want to punch air in anger.
Overall…..it’s going to just flat out suck, and we’re going to have to deal with it. Sure, this article will probably send the “Swifties” after me. They will probably bury my mentions with utter nonsense, to the point where they’ll make me consider deleting Twitter. But I’m not the only one who thinks this. I am the “voice of the voiceless,” and I am speaking up for my people.
But in the end, as always…..what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
